Took it out for its longest spin ever, almost 4 miles. Got a clicking sound and squeaking sound on the way back, googled it. Most agreed this was a normal part of electric longboard maintenance and discovered I needed to pull the wheel off the motor hub, and add some synthetic grease. After going through some video tutorials, I took a look at my boards motor wheel…and saw tiny phillips head screws securing the outer portion. They looked pre-worn already, as if overtightened. Had these been hex head screws, like the inner portion of the motor wheel uses, and a lot of other boards in the tutorials show, then it wouldn’t have been an issue if they were overtightened. However I have used my entire body weight on these bad boys and have just made the wear worse. Will be seeing if I know someone with a teeeny tiny tap and die set otherwise, or hoping I can get some good customer support.
