The world’s first zero-maintenance all-terrain electric skateboard – the Backfire Ranger4 months, 1 week ago | 1 Replies
A broken belt or flat tire is a nightmare for the ESK8ers.Especially if it happens that night on a group trip that you’ve been planning for weeks.Let me set the scene; As you wander around in the dark looking for a dropped high-speed washing machine, your class quickly gets impatient. To make matters worse, you didn’t have any spare parts with you at that time, and the tail/plank between your legs paralyzed you.
Since its introduction, the Backfire Ranger electric skateboard product line has stood out from the crowd for its extremely polarized light! Unlike most all-terrain electric skateboards on the market that use belt drives, satellite motors, and inflatable tires, the Ranger series all-terrain plates feature two large direct-drive hub motors, cleverly disguised as 165mm wheels.
A bold design choice, but due to the common mechanical or maintenance issues that most other all-terrain panels on the market are likely to encounter, this will ensure that you will never gain a foothold in the team race. With the expanding lineup of electric skateboards, Backfire is fast becoming one of the preferred brands of electric skateboards. It seems that every quarter Backfire has one or two brand new upgraded models available for pre-order or, in many cases, in stock, ready to ship immediately from its global network of warehouses spread across four continents, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia.Backfire’s growth in the electric board market has been remarkable, as they continue to release new iterations with better, better specs, and as of this week, their latest product has been shipped, the highly anticipated, upgraded, all-terrain flagship, the Ranger X3.
Key Performance Upgrades
12S battery (21700 batteries), the maximum battery output current is 90 amps
Thanks to the battery upgrade, more motor power is now available per 1500W
In addition, the new car has a top top speed of 42km/h
Backfire CEO Randy told me that the torque output of the new Ranger X3 varies widely
In terms of aesthetics and design, the Ranger X3 looks very advanced. In terms of price, it also takes home the prize at $1,499, making it the most expensive board in Backfire, with direct access to the consumer online store www.backfireboards.com 10 — $500 more than the second cheapest option, which deserves the title of “flagship”.
On the hardware side, the $1,499 price tag is easily justified by how much the hard-earned Mura has spent. Don’t forget that the price includes delivery. To recap, the Backfire brand has not historically been considered to be overpriced, they are generally considered to have the most affordable price (full set of dual skateboards), and with its most affordable full set of electric scooters, the Backfire G2 is currently selling for 409USD — a blockbuster in the budget board price range!
When comparing the Ranger X3 to other all-terrain options on the market, the Ranger X3 is not the cheapest or most expensive all-terrain product. It seems to have backfired by strategically positioning yourself to buy the next premium motherboard at an affordable price that won’t make the wife uncomfortable. Backfire’s chief executive, Randy, must know the old saying, happy wife, happy life!
Turning to hardware, the Ranger X3 is built on an extremely robust carbon fiber composite symmetrical pull-down elastic platform.
A set of top mounted hyperbolic pin trucks (DKP) is fixed to the deck where there are no points. This all-terrain style of “setup style” was made famous a few years ago by the Evolution electric skateboard. I guess what evolved? This setup has now been adopted as standard by countless other makers of electric skateboards, I won’t even name them, and the trend is now ubiquitous.
You see, personally, I’m not a fan of double kingship, but this setup looks great. The style has been tried and tested and is loved by thousands of riders around the world, especially those who enjoy the surfing, sculpting, deep turns that the geometry brings. It’s fun and practical, and it’s safe to say that this truck setup will work for your everyday average rider, doing ESK8 missions on a daily basis. The truth is that it’s really hard to innovate in truck design, so running with this setting is perfectly acceptable and counterproductive is a safe design choice.
I like the idea of zero maintenance boards, no need to change belts, no need to fix flat tires. That fact alone may ultimately be the product’s biggest selling point. Assuming the electronic device is correct, it should be a very reliable machine that can take you wherever you want in your local urban wonderland. It also comes with a 12-month warranty from local repair agents in the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany and China.
That’s right, you’ll never convince a guy who likes to roll on air tires that those airless tires with built-in hub motors are superior… But people are adamant, no matter what they think, that if they don’t like vibration and bumping, they should wear some fancy gel insoles inside their shoes, or knit braid or something less strong.
The most important thing here is that you have a board that can complete the product you purchased! If you need a board that has a very low failure rate, is great for commuting in wet conditions, and can also be sculpted on weekends, then I think this board may be your best choice.
